What is vegan soap made of?

February 17, 2017

Vegan soaps are not tested on animals and don't contain ingredients that are derived from animals.

Animal ingredients can include anything from milk and honey to natural fats, such as lanolin -- this is a substance secreted by the sebaceous glands of sheep used in many moisturising cosmetic products and although it is a natural and organic ingredient it isn't suitable for vegans. Tallow is another type of animal fat used in traditional soap-making and is often favoured over vegetable fats by manufacturers because it creates a rich lather and is cheap to source.

Our handmade baby soap is 100% vegan-friendly. A blend of ethically sourced Virgin Shea Butter and Fairtrade Oils, this mild soap is made with fats like coconut oil and olive oil instead of tallow. Plus, it's unscented, making it perfect for delicate skin types that are irritated by scented additives and harsh chemicals.

Each bar lasts and lasts and the nourishing formula cleanses gently without stripping the skin of its existing moisture. Our vegan soap has a light texture and creates a hydrating lather on the skin.
