Versatile ways to use Shea Butter

June 6, 2016

The Shea Butter used in all Shea Mooti products comes from a multi-cooperative in northern Ghana called AfriKids' Daughters. This pure and natural form of Shea Butter is blended into our skin-conditioning formulations to protect, soften and soothe the skin. It's super-versatile and it has a million and one benefits - here are just 10 ways to use Shea Butter:

  1. Revive dull hair by applying hydrating Shea Butter to the scalp and dry ends. The nourishing moisturiser will soak into the hair, helping to strengthen split ends and add shine to lacklustre locks.
  2. Slather Shea Butter on particularly dry areas of the body, like the ankles, elbows and knees, to moisturise ashy skin.
  3. Use Shea Butter on the feet just before bed to soften cracked heels.
  4. Run out of lip balm? Shea Butter makes the perfect salve for chapped lips because it creates a seal over the skin and prevents moisture loss.
  5. Run out of shaving foam? Smooth some Shea Butter over your legs to make your own natural shaving lotion that will reduce nicks and razor burn....
  6. ....then apply a touch more after shaving to soothe and soften the skin.
  7. Calm itchy, dry skin in an instant with rich Shea Butter. Ideal for treating dry skin conditions, this luscious moisturiser soaks into the skin and eliminates the tell-tale itch and inflammation of eczema.
  8. Rub a touch of Shea Butter onto the cuticles and nail bed to strengthen and rebuild damaged fingernails and toenails.
  9. Use Shea Butter as an after-sun balm to soothe red and uncomfortable skin after a day out in the sunshine.
  10. Apply to scars, burns and stretch marks to speed up the healing process.
