Diet tips for healthier skin

May 19, 2016

What you eat has a massive effect on the health of your skin. Fuel your body with the right food and you'll benefit from radiant skin, a happier mood and greater levels of energy.

These tips may be very simple but they work!

  • Eat a rainbow of fruits and vegetables to get the nutrients your skin needs to shine. Pack your diet with salads, add veggies to your sandwiches and have chopped fruit as a dessert to instantly amp up the health of your daily diet.
  • Opt for foods that are high in anti-ageing Vitamin E, like almonds, sunflower seeds, spinach, avocados and hazelnuts.
  • Snack on things that are high in antioxidants, such as blueberries, kiwis, sweet potatoes and strawberries.
  • Drink lots of water (at least 8 glasses a day) to hydrate the skin.
  • Avoid eating fast food and processed meals that contain lots of hidden sugars that can trigger acne, eczema and spots. Cut down on cakes, pastries and sweets too.
  • Don't go on crash diets that eliminate entire food groups, which can leave your body lacking in essential nutrients for the health of the skin.
