8 ways to moisturise better

May 24, 2016

  1. Choose a moisturiser that suits your skin type. Light lotions are ideal for people with normal skin, thicker-textured balms are useful for dry skin and richer oils are ideal for parched skin that needs an extra blast of moisture. Oils are also recommended for preventing and treating stretch marks!
  2. You may need to use a different moisturiser for your face than the rest of your body, especially if you have an oily complexion. Take the time to consider what works best for you.
  3. Make moisturising a part of your routine. Invest in your skin and moisturise it daily to keep it looking soft, smooth and supple. This will also help to reduce wrinkles and crow's feet, ensuring that your skin looks radiant from the inside out.
  4. Think of the time that you spend on moisturising your body as a 'me-time'. Caring for the health of your skin shouldn't be a hassle; it should be a few minutes that you unreservedly set aside each day to invest in your future.
  5. Try moisturising immediately after a shower while your skin is still damp to lock in as much moisture as possible.
  6. Don't forget to moisturise your hands and feet! These areas tend to be forgotten about even though they can be the driest parts of the body.
  7. Apply some Mama's Everything Body Balm to your hands before doing the washing up. Put some rubber gloves on and the heat of the warm water will help your skin to absorb the lotion.
  8. Opt for a moisturing soap, like Mama's Shea Butter Soap, that is super gentle. The mild formulation won't dry out the skin and the hydrating Shea Butter conditions the skin, leaving it feeling cleansed, soft and smooth.
  9. Moisturise your feet just before bed and pop on a pair of socks so that they feel soft and restored when you wake up in the morning.
